The importance of a good yawn

Imagine having so much to say and not being able to put it into words. A good yawn allows your dog to let out all the tension, pain and emotional insecucirty that may have built up over the years. There are many ways to teach your dog the benefits ...

Massaging your dog's skull, jaw and neck in a gentle circular pattern assists the mental processing that goes along with healing and recovery.

Standing or sitting behind your dog gently place the palms of your hands on the back of the upper neck, with thumbs resting together at the base of the skull. From this position place your fingers on both sides of the face across the jaw and cheek area. Gently commence the massage, including the ears at the base and around the back. Watch your dog's demeanour soften, the eyes go slightly misty and you can feel the release of tension as it leaves your dog. This technique will invariably lead to the dog wanting to stretch its jaw and yawn, each one allowing it to release and relax

If you want to know more or not sure of your technique don't hesitate to call or email.
